A train wreck occurred east of Amarillo at U.S. Highway 60 and FM 1912 close to Tyson Fresh Meats. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, an eastbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe was stopped when it was rear ended by another eastbound train. A few seconds later, a westbound train hit the wreckage that had spilled onto the westbound tracks. One of the trains was carrying hazardous material that did not spill. Four were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
