Graveside services for Susie Reat, 59, of Lexington, Texas were held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Prospect Cemetery in Lexington, Texas with Kelly Reat officiating.
Susie Kindle (Mulanax) Reat was born on December 1, 1959 in Pampa, Texas to Jerry Cornelius Mulanax & Norma Jean (Hayes) Mulanax. She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Reat on August 17, 1990. Susie attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton and studied anthropology and history. Susie was a member of the End Stage Renal Disease Network of Texas, National Kidney Foundation, Patient Representative at Satellite Dialysis in Austin, assisted with the American Kidney Foundation and was an organ donation educator. In her spare time, Susie enjoyed animals as they were a big part of her life and taking care of horses, reading, writing stories and children’s books, baking, crafting with a boundless ability to create things, loved music, gardening, an avid learner with a constant thirst for knowledge.
Susie passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.
She preceded in death by her parents, Jerry & Norma Mulanax and two brothers, Jerry “Bubba” Mulanax and Adam Mulanax.
Susie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jeffrey Reat of Lexington; son, Ethan Kindle of Pampa; two daughters, Jasmine Kindle-Dennis and her husband, Eddie of San Antonio and Valerie Waugh and her husband, Kenneth of Hawaii; six grandchildren, Lily Hilliard of San Antonio, Cora Sage Dennis of San Antonio, Zoe Kindle of San Antonio, Layne Sass, Caysin Waugh and Landon Waugh of Hawaii; sister, Starla Kindle and her husband, Eddie of Pampa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families. Susie is also survived by her fur babies, Twinx, Bean, Filbert, and Phoenix.
In lieu of flowers memorials have been made to assist the family with final expenses and can be sent to Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1517, Giddings, Texas 78942.
