52 recoveries drops active cases to 21

Friday afternoon the City of Pampa and Gray County were notified by the Texas Department of State Health Services of three new positive COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases in Gray County.

These new cases bring the overall total to 251.

Wednesday, the State also reported 52 new COVID-19 (Coronavirus) recoveries bringing our overall total to 225 overall recoveries.

With these new cases today the overall totals read like this: 251 total cases, 225 recoveries, 21 active cases, five COVID-19 deaths.

Texas Department of State Health Services has modified the information they are reporting.

They are no longer giving information about hospitalizations or how COVID-19 is spreading.

They are also only reporting recoveries once per week, typically on Tuesday or Wednesday.

As always, we will only report what information is reported to the County Judge and is allowed for publication by HIPPA laws.

Due to these modifications the City/County is making some changes to our information board.

The City/County will only track new positives, active cases, recovered cases and fatalities.

The City/County will no longer report pending tests, virus acquisition or hospitalizations.

The City/County have always strived to be as transparent as legally allowed and appreciate your patience and understanding through this process.

While the active case count has dropped below 21, the State requires that a County must maintain 30 consecutive days under 21 active cases countywide to re-apply for a mask exemption.

Once Gray County has 30 consecutive days of 20 active cases or lower, the County Judge will file an Attestation of that Fact to the Texas Department of Emergency Management and request exemption.

As always take all the necessary precautions to make sure you and your families are safe.
