Albert Nichols, 81, of Pampa, passed away from this life to eternity on November 15, 2022, in Pampa.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00-7:30 PM

Albert was born on January 23, 1941, in Pampa to Ab and Dollie Nichols. He spent his early years in Pampa, moving to Ringwood, Oklahoma and later moving to Nix, Nebraska, where he would graduate in 1959. Albert moved to Borger after graduation to attend Frank Phillips College, where he played basketball. While in college, he met Barbara May, they married on August 24, 1963. Albert and Barbara moved to Amarillo, and he attended West Texas State College, graduating in 1966. Albert began his teaching career in Amarillo, Bushland, Hartley, and moved to Pampa in 1983 to finish his career. He coached girls’ high school basketball for many years. Albert left the teaching and coaching field to become the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer for Gray County, where he retired. Never being idle, Albert began working and running cattle at the Chisum Ranch. Countless memories were made with his grandchildren, riding horses, and checking cattle together.
Albert and Barbara spent the latter years chasing grandkids in their sporting events and activities. They also enjoyed camping and fishing in Colorado and Lake Texhoma. Albert and Barbara attended First Baptist Church in Pampa for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chuck Nichols; sister, Debbie Rozzell; grandson, Andrew Burch; great granddaughter, Scout Hope Sullivan.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; two daughters, Dinah Burch and husband Monty of Hammon, Oklahoma and Melissa Draper and husband Kevin of Amarillo; a son, Randy Nichols and wife Nikki of Pampa; grandchildren, Jordan Sullivan and husband Jon Mark of Elk City, Oklahoma, Erin Davis and husband Andy of Cordell, Oklahoma, Faith Burch of Hammon, Oklahoma, Kaylee Williams and husband Tyler, Zak Dominguez all of Amarillo, Hannah Nichols and Hunter Nichols both of Pampa; great grandchildren, Tripp Ely and Marlee Williams of Amarillo, Sawyer and Quincy Sullivan of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Knox Davis of Cordell, Oklahoma.
