Alicea Hernandez, 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away on March 20, 2022 in Wichita Falls.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Alicea was born July 6, 1934 in Brackettville, Texas to Simon and Maria Martinez. She lived in Hart for several years. During her time there, she was a homemaker and began her family. She also helped during cotton harvest as crew leader and would transport the workers to and from the fields. She later moved to Pampa for a few years and then back to Plainview where she lived most of her life. While in Plainview, she volunteered for the food bank and had many wonderful friends there. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and loved to help others. Alicea also enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino. For the past year, she has lived in Wichita Falls with her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Divina Pena; sister, Sara Martinez; and 3 brothers, Lupe Martinez, Joe Martinez, and Simon Martinez.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Victor Perales and wife Ester of Amarillo, Albert Perales of Plainview, and Jimmy Hernandez and wife Remi of Garland; 6 daughters, Linda Perales, Rosie Godino and husband Ignacio, Oralia Deandra all of Plainview, Yolanda Gomez of San Angelo, Tina Hernandez of Topeka, Kansas, and Mary Campos and husband Pete of Wichita Falls; a brother, Johnny Martinez and wife Ellena of Hart; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
