The Board of Trustees for the Pampa Independent School District held a special meeting to declare the results of the bond election that occurred on May 6th.

In attendance at the special meeting were Hugh Piatt, Superintendent, Cade Taylor, Board Member, and Denise Intemann, Board Secretary. As this was a quorum to canvas returns and declare the results of the bond election, a minimum of two members of the PISD Board of Trustees were needed to attend.

Intemann declared the quorum and spoke about the results of the election.

“The final count for Prop A was 1359 For and 937 Against, a 59.19% approval,” Intemann said. “The final count for Prop B was 1346 For and 953 Against, a 58.55 % approval.”

Taylor made a motion to accept the canvas results of the May 6th election. Piatt seconded the motion.

Piatt expanded upon the community support that was shown during the election.

“It was pretty exciting to see people come out to vote,” Piatt said. “We had around 21 percent of people vote in the May election. I was happy to see the turnout.”
