AMARILLO, Texas – The Boy Scouts of America, Golden Spread Council, has selected Brian Tobler as the new Scout Executive, effective Nov. 1.

Tobler began his scouting career as a District Executive at the Heart of America Council in Kansas City, Missouri, where he also served as Senior District Executive, District Director, and eventually Assistant Director of Field Service. He later served as Director of Field Service of the Denver Area Council in Denver.

Tobler is an Eagle Scout who enjoys watching, playing and coaching sports and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Laurie, have four children.

“We are very excited to welcome Brian to Amarillo,” said David Prescott, council president. “He brings new ideas and a fresh perspective on providing the youth of our area with safe and life-changing experiences that will benefit them for years to come. It’s a great time to be in Scouting for both boys and girls, and we look forward to working with Brian as we serve our youth and their parents with high quality Scouting programs.”

The Boy Scouts of America (the BSA) is one of the largest Scouting organizations in the United States of America and one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.4 million youth participants and nearly one million adult volunteers.
