Camilo Solis, 88, of Pampa, passed away on August 2, 2021 in Amarillo.

Celebration of life funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 5, 2021 with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

The Vigil and Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

Camilo was born on August 17, 1932 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Matiana and Jose Solis. He grew up and attended school in Mexico. He later met the love of his life, Hortencia and they married in April of 1951. They had ten children and spent 41 years together before she preceded him in death on December 9, 1994. They moved to Juarez where they spent fifty years before moving to Pampa to be closer to their family. Camilo worked as a mechanic for many years in Mexico and for a handful of years in Pampa at J C Daniels Suoco Oil Corp. He enjoyed cars, fishing, and playing cornhole with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Camilo was preceded in death by parents; wife; 17 brothers and sisters; a by a grandson, Joe Solis in 2016.

He is survived by nine sons, Javier Solis and wife Blanca of Pampa, Camilo Solis and wife Guadalupe of El Paso, Lorenzo Solis, Jose Solis and wife Gloria, Salvador Solis and wife Rosario, Manuel Solis and wife Guadalupe, Roberto Solis and wife Sonia, Carlos Solis and wife Leticia, all of Pampa, and Manuel Payan Villalba of Chihuahua; two daughters, Silvia Enriques and husband Gilberto, and Daena Solis, all of Pampa; 37 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandkids.
