New Year’s Eve is rapidly approaching. Atomic Ice House and Mikey’s Liquor Store have a variety of drinks to ring in 2023. The manager of Atomic Ice House, Alex, spoke about popular drinks that people have been buying in preparation for the new year.
“Our cocktails baggies have been a big hit,” Alex said. “We have so many flavors like caramel apple, peanut butter and jelly, and velvet martini. They’re so popular that, to keep up with demand, we will have a lot more at the end of the week.”
For those seeking a more classic beverage, Atomic Ice House has an incredible selection of champagne. From Moet & Chandon Ice Imperial to Dom Perignon Vintage 2012, there are countless Champagne brands to choose from. Alex also offers her recommendations for New Year’s Eve.
“We have a Key Lime Cream Mimosa that’s great for the morning of New Year’s Eve,” Alex said. “Towards the night, you can’t go wrong with a good whiskey.”
Looking to celebrate New Years in the upcoming days? Atomic Ice House will also be having a cocktail tasting on the 30th from 4 to 7 pm. Enjoy a fine selection of drinks during this event like Moscow Mules. Atomic Ice House typically has these tastings once a month and around every major holiday.
Atomic Ice House will be open on December 31st from 10 am to 9 pm. They will be closed on January 1st.
The owner of Mikey’s Liquor Store, Wendy Castanon, discussed the most sought after drinks her customers have been buying in preparation for New Year’s celebration. Castanon has been the owner of Mikey’s Liquor Store for 13 years.
“New Year’s Eve is our second busiest holiday of the year. Christmas is the first,” Castanon said. “On New Year’s, people buy a little bit of everything. Champagne is really popular because people want to do a toast.”
For people looking to try something new this holiday, Castanon gave her drink recommendations that will make New Year’s Eve an unforgettable day.
“Mimosas are really good for the morning. If you like something sweet or don’t drink much, a mimosa with either Spumante, Moscato, or Champagne is delicious,” Castanon said. “For more experienced drinkers, a mimosa with any kind of Brut or extra dry Champagne is a good choice. Drinks for the night really depends on what type of alcohol you like. If you drink beer, wine, or whiskey, it’s good to choose that.”
