Chamber of Commerce Banquet returns in 2022 with ‘Yellow Rose’ Gala

It’s been three years since the Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet awarding the Citizen, Business and Student of the Year. It’s been two years since the aforementioned honors were awarded.

But on March 26, the former annual banquet will return in the form of the “Yellow Rose Gala” from 7 to 9 p.m. at M.K. Brown Auditorium.

“We’ve just tried to make it a more upscale event and a celebration of Pampa,” Pampa Chamber of Commerce Director Cortnie Patterson said. “We’re not bringing in an outside speaker or a political speaker. We just want to celebrate the citizens, the businesses, the growth and tenacity of Pampa through the challenges we’ve been through the last few years.”

The nomination committee met earlier this week and selected the winners after a lengthy process that included nominations from the public.

Desperado’s will be catering and entertainment will be provided by the Alma Quartet out of Lubbock.

“They are kind of a rat-pack, Frank Sinatra vibe for some music,” Patterson said.

Tickets for the event are $50 and available on the Pampa Chamber of Commerce website. Patterson said the theme of a yellow rose was selected because it symbolizes friendship.

“I think the most important aspect of community is friendship,” Patterson said. “If we start acting like the other businesses, other citizens and organizations are our friends and not our competitors, we all grow together.”

Table sponsorships are still available.

The Pampa Chamber of Commerce will also be teaming up with Hidden Hills and Pampa Country Club to return to the Pampa Partnership April 22-24.

“The Pampa Partnership Golf Tournament was a Chamber event years ago,” Patterson said. “It has continued to exist within the golf courses here in Pampa, but this is the first year in a number of years for the Chamber to be a part of it.”

Featured during the weekend will be Texas country musician, Wade Bowen on April 22.

“There are general admission tickets, VIP tickets, hole sponsors and the golf tournament entry fee includes a ticket,” Patterson said. “It comes with a general admission ticket and someone can upgrade to a VIP ticket.”

Tickets are available through the Pampa Chamber of Commerce at www.pampachamber.com. For more information, call the Pampa Chamber of Commerce at 806-669-3241.
