Charles 'Chuck' Bennett

Charles “Chuck” Bennett, 83, of White Deer, passed away November 4, 2019 in White Deer. 

Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 8, 2019, at First Baptist Church in White Deer, with Brother Alan Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in White Deer Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mr. Bennett was born November 8, 1935 in Pampa to Edgar and Ruby Bennett. He was a 1953 graduate of Phillips High School where he excelled in football and track. In 1956 he met his future wife Bettie Pearson while they were attending college at WTSU. They married July 6, 1957 in Fritch and had three sons. Chuck was a big fan of all sports and refereed football for 27 years, and basketball for 17 years. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren in all their activities. Chuck also loved fishing and anything outdoors. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bettie Bennett of the home; three sons, Donnie Bennett and wife Tammy of Duncan, Oklahoma, Dean Bennett and wife Lynne of Friendswood, and Darin Bennett and wife Julie of White Deer; five grandchildren, Wesley Bennett and wife Julie, Amber Hansen and husband Michael, Tacy Bennett, Brice Bennett and wife Cori, and Cody Bennett; and four great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the White Deer Senior Citizens, P.O. Box 744, White Deer, TX 79097; or WDS Lighthouse Food Pantry, P.O. Box 812, White Deer, TX 79097. 

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa.
