Charles “Chuck” Riley, 77, of Pampa, passed away March 5, 2023 in McLean.

Celebration of life memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Kyle Ohsfeldt of

Grace Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the care of the Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Chuck will be available for viewing from 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM on Tuesday and up to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family will have a visitation to receive friends from 6:00 -7:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Chuck was born on January 6, 1946 in Pampa. As a young boy his family moved to Amarillo where he grew up, attended school, and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1967. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving for four years before he was honorably discharged.

Following his discharge from the military, Chuck entered the workforce. He worked as a manager form Circle K and for Toro for several years. Later, Chuck went to work for the gas company that included Pioneer, Energas, and Atmos- a career that spanned over 30 years before he retired. In his spare time, he liked to listen to the city scanner, fishing, and working on his cars. He will be remembered as a giving man who was generous and friendly. Chuck will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Odell and Oneva Riley; his mother, Cleta Brangle; a stepfather, John “Jack” Brangle; by two brothers, Jessie Weeks and Dale Weeks; and a sister, Stacy Darlene Estes

Chuck is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Baker of Urbana, Illinois, and Crystal McPherson and husband Bill; a son, Jesse Riley of Denton; five granddaughters, Marisa Roderick of Valparaiso, Indiana, Marlee Sargent and husband Mason, Hannah McPherson, Lella McPherson, and Lanee McPherson, all of Pampa; two grandsons, Dustin Hoffman of Bailey, Colorado, and Brendan Baker of Urbana, Illinois; two great-grandchildren Oliver Sargent and Robin Sargent, both of Pampa; a brother, Dennis Riley of Shertz; a sister, Karene Elliott of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and by other extended family.
