Charley Douthit, 75,of Pampa, passed away, November 15, 2021 in Amarillo.

Celebration of life services were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Carl Dawson of the Priest Park Church of God, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Charley was born on March 17, 1946, in Rocky Ford, OK to Esther and William Douthit. As a young boy Charley moved to Pampa in 1966. Charley attended school in Pampa. After high school, he entered the work force where he worked as a mechanic in White Deer for a brief time. Some time later, Charley became a fireman, a career that spanned several years and where he would later, he retire. For many years and after his retirement from the Fire Department, Charley always stayed busy with his business, CL Repossessing. He liked going to car shows and auctions and was looking for anything that interested him. Charley found enjoyment working with his hands but found greater enjoyment spending time with family and friends and always treating people to dinner. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Charley was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerry Douthit; five brothers, Raymond Douthit, Haskel Douthit, Doil Douthit, Robert Douthit, and by Donnie Brown; three sisters, Floy Madison, Velma Jones, and Pauline Clark; a stepsister, Ila Mae Nix; and by four stepbrothers.

Survivors include his daughter, Trina Garcia and husband Abram of Pampa; five granddaughters, Ashley Hernandez of Lubbock, Laci Hernandez of Pampa, Tara Garcia of Borger, Kallie Douthit, and Carlie Douthit, both of Pampa; three grandsons, Aaron Hernandez, Nicholas Garcia and wife Korilina, and Oliver Garcia, all of Pampa; nine greatgrandchildren; one sister, Oleta Young and husband Roy of Seeling, OK; a stepsister, Ona Francis Parrish of Norco, California; a daughter-in-law, Traci Douthit of Pampa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
