Christina Maria DeLeon, 34, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Amarillo.

Funeral mass will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Hrudaya Raju Kondamudi, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel.

Christina was born on May 28, 1988, in Pampa to Ermelinda Villarreal and Ricardo DeLeon. She attended school in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School in 2006. She had two beautiful children, Benicio DeLeon and Maya Baston. They were her world.

After high school, Christina went to cosmetology school. She loved fixing hair and was most recently working at Men’s Only Haircuts in Amarillo. Christina was very creative and loved to sew. She was caring, loving, and was there for anyone who needed her.

Her loved ones who are waiting for her in Heaven are her maternal grandparents, Victor and Consuelo Villarreal; paternal grandmother, Savas DeLeon; brother, Migel; cousins, Rick, Anthony, and Bethany; and two tios, Neal and Gomer.

Survivors include her mother, Ermelinda Villarreal; her father, Ricardo DeLeon; her two children, Benicio and Maya; four brothers, Jason Shorter, Abel Shorter, Tony Shorter, and Neal Shorter; two sisters, Maribel Villarreal and April Sheibert; godson, Esteban Villarreal; paternal grandfather, Delfino DeLeon, Sr.; many aunts and uncles on both sides of her family; and special friends Amber and Sherry, who were always there for her.
