Christine Hindes, 75, of Pampa, passed away on May 18, 2022, in Amarillo.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Monday 23, 2022 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jim Sinyard of Carpenter’s Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Higgins Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Christine was born on October 20, 1946, in Eugene, Oregon. As a young girl, she traveled and lived in several different states due to her father’s employment. She later came to Texas to live in Texhoma where she later graduated high school. After her graduation, she enrolled at Panhandle State University. She left college early to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps where she proudly served her country.

Christine later came to the Panhandle, living in both Higgins and later Pampa. While in Pampa, she worked for the United Postal Service for over 30 years, serving as the Postmaster in Lefors and a helping as an assistant Postmaster in Pampa. Christine was an avid sports fan, and she appreciated all the different games. Christine was giving woman who put many others before herself and was always ready to lend hand to someone in need. Her family will always remember Christine as a wonderful woman and the very best mother someone could ask for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Marvin Brown; a sister, Sandra Thrasher; and by a brother, Billy Brown.

Christine’s survivors include her son, Wayne Hindes of Pampa; a brother, David Brown and wife Jacque of Higgins; a sister, Barbara Johnson of Elk City, Oklahoma; two nieces, Valarie Monroe of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Christie Short of Breckenridge, Texas; and other extended family.
