This year’s themed Christmas in Candyland Parade will be held on Saturday, December 9 starting at 6:30 p.m., taking its’ usual route from the M.K. Brown parking lot and then down Somerville to downtown Pampa. Staging will begin at 5 p.m.
This year will also feature the Christmas in Candyland Spectacular starting at 3 p.m. on the stage in front of Pampa Home and Sleep Store on Cuyler. The road between 200 N. Cuyler and 100 E. Francis will be closed at 2 p.m. and food trucks will open for business along Francis street.
Around the corner starting at 3 p.m., Madeline Graves’ Dancers will take the stage. At 4 p.m. Arieon Keller will perform, at 5 p.m. PHS Choir will perform, and at 6 p.m. Christmas Caroloke and games will commence until the parade starts at 6:30 p.m.
White Deer Land Museum will also be hosting a Christmas party starting at 5 p.m., with the museum opening at noon for those who wish to visit. There will be a special storytime and guests, cookies, cider and coloring activities as well. The museum will close at 7 p.m.
Christmas in Candyland Community Challenge
Citizens of Pampa can now nominate homes, neighborhoods and businesses by scanning the QR code attached to this article for this year’s first-ever community Christmas decorating challenge.
Winners will be chosen from the following categories:
• Best House
• Best Block/Neighborhood
• Best Business
• Best use of the Candyland theme
The deadline to submit entries is Friday, Dec. 15 by 8 p.m. Displays are to be available for judging from Dec. 18 through Dec. 22 and lit between the hours of 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
