(Elk City, Oklahoma – Nov. 25, 2019) – Lots of holiday lights, hot cocoa and a wonderful time will welcome family, friends, and visitors to the annual Elk City Christmas in the Park.

Visitors can once again drive through the park and view the light displays every night from 6 to 11 p.m. beginning Friday, Nov. 29 and continuing through New Year’s Eve.

Extra special activities take place every Friday and Saturday nights through Dec. 21 from 6 to 9 p.m..

The festivities all take place at Ackley Park located on Historic Route 66 and admission remains FREE to all visitors. This year Friday and Saturday night extra special activities include: Train rides on the Candy Cane Express, light tours on the Mistletoe Express, Double-Decker Bus. The beautiful Centennial Carousel also will be available for kids of all ages and new this year will be the Holly Jolly Trolley rides.  Of course, the festivities wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the Gingerbread Gift Shoppe and visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa will greet boys and girls at the Santa Hut each Friday and Saturday evenings through Dec. 21, 6-9 p.m..

This year’s Christmas in the Park Ornament is the “Nativity Scene”.  We are so happy how beautiful this ornament is and what the Nativity represents.  The ornaments are $15 each and can be purchased at the Elk City Chamber of Commerce, the Transportation Museum, City Hall and the Ginger Bread Gift Shop at Christmas in the Park.

“It doesn’t get any better than this when it comes to holiday fun for the entire family,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Susie Cupp. “Christmas in the Park is not only the largest Christmas light display in all of western Oklahoma, but also the Best!” “It is without doubt, one of the most special parts of the holiday season in Elk City.” Cupp also added “the Chamber of Commerce appreciates the City of Elk City and their Parks Department for putting up over a million lights for everyone to enjoy and the Chamber also appreciates all our volunteers and sponsors that help with all the activities every Friday and Saturday nights.” For more information about volunteering or being a sponsor please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 580-225-0207.
