The City of Pampa Commissioners met on Monday afternoon for a regularly-scheduled meeting.

After the opening formalities, there was a public hearing on the 2020 Consumer Confidence Report for the Pampa Municipal Water System and the Water System at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Jordan and Baten Units.

The report is available in a pamphlet with utility bills or online at www.pampaccr.com.

“It tells you anything that was found in the water in 2020,” Director of Public Works Gary Turley said. “But it is also helpful tidbits on water conservation.”

The Commissioners also had a presentation from the City’s Finance Director Robin Bailey about the City’s enterprise and charges for services.

The bulk of the presentation was an information piece for the newer commissioners about the budget process and descriptions for water/wastewater, pH2O water park, solid waste and Hidden Hills Public Golf Course.

Bailey did let the Commissioners know there is not a planned increase in the base rates to water, sewer and trash pick-up.

“We are not proposing any increases into any rates,” Bailey said. “In water, we haven’t increased that in several years. Sewer, we went up 50 cents in 2018-19 and in 2018-19 we went up in trash.”

The Commissioners approved the following items:

• Approving the minutes of the June 28, 2021 Regular Commission Meeting as presented.

• Excuse the absence of Commissioner Brian Doughty from the June 28, 2021 Regular Commission Meeting.

• Second and final reading Resolution No. R21-024, a Resolution by the City Commission approving an Economic Development Agreement and forgivable loan in the amount of $15,000 from the Pampa Economic Development Corporation to Wiskey Business Enterprises, LLC, dba Wiskey Grills.

• Resolution No. R21-025, a Resolution by the City Commission adopting Executive Order GA-34 and extending to August 9, 2021 the City of Pampa’s Declaration of Local Disaster Order.

• Resolution No. R21-026, a Resolution by the City Commission reappointing Jerry Carlson to a two (2) year term on the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority (CRMWA) Board ofDirectors.
