Cora Jane Luck, 87, of Pampa, Texas succumbed to Covid only two days short of her 88th birthday, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, and is now having the most amazing birthday celebration with Jesus! She was born on March 6, 1935, to Arno and Mary Haines in Follett, Texas.

Following her high school graduation from Follett, she married Dwayne Luck, Sr. on December 24, 1955, in Follett and began their family of three children, Dwayne Jr, Clifford and Nancy. They moved to Denver City, Texas and while living there, built a wonderful life together. Cora worked for a bank and the hospital as an administrative assistant for a while, then returned to her favorite occupation as a housewife and mother. She was a very devoted member of the First Baptist Church serving as the director of the WMU, she taught Sunday School to children, youth and adults and was a member of the Joy Choir. In 2018, Cora moved from Denver City to Pampa to live with her daughter and moved her letter to Highland Baptist Church.

When not active with church functions, Cora worked in her garden, enjoyed the tranquility of fishing, and spent countless hours researching her family genealogy. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she cherished each one of them.

She was greeted into Heaven by her beloved husband; two sons Dwayne, Jr and Clifford; two sisters, Lottie Fay Oakley, Mary Gail Fry and a brother, Gene Haines.

Her memories will be cherished by her daughter, Nancy Bell and husband, Lewis of Pampa; two granddaughters, Melinda Jane Bell of Pampa, Allison Fortner and husband, Justin of Fort Worth and three great-grandchildren, Zander, Cannon and Malachi.

Cora will be available to pay respects on Wednesday from 3 to 8 pm and again Thursday morning from 9 to 11 at Winegeart Funeral Home, 303 N Frost Street.

Celebration of Life Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 9, 2023, in the Fairmont Cemetery in Follett, Texas with Brother Paul Nachtigall officiating. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.

Should donations be a preference, the family suggests they be made to her church home, Highland Baptist Church, 1301 N Banks Street, Pampa, TX 79065 in honor of Cora.
