Cortnie Allison Patterson was named the new director for the Pampa Chamber of Commerce by the organization’s Board of Directors on Thursday.

“It’s exciting,” Patterson said. “We had a couple of interviews and they called me back fairly quickly to go back up there. I was expecting more interview questions but they hired me. It was exciting and we immediately went back to work.”

Patterson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Allison of Bill Allison Auto Sales. She has lived in Pampa since she was six months old and graduated from Pampa High School in 2000.

“I left Pampa with a golf scholarship to McLennan Community College in Waco,” Patterson said. “I attended there for one year before West Texas A&M University started their golf program back and wanted to use Panhandle natives to do that. I was one of the lucky ones asked to do that.”

She graduated from WT with a bachelors of science degree in PR and advertising. In 2016, Patterson and her husband, Mark, started P2S Patterson Patterson Services.

“We are a pipeline and plant construction company,” Patterson said.

Patterson would like to see the Pampa Chamber grow in community involvement.

“The first goal is to make the Pampa Chamber of Commerce a community organization that brings together the leaders and business owners to grow their influence and allow them to work together,” Patterson said.

“In my opinion, the currency of business is community. It’s the people you know and the connections you make. That’s how businesses and small towns thrive.”

Patterson has two children, Ella and Slade, and her husband has two kids, TJ and Joseph, at the home and two older children, Macie and Marley.

Pampa Chamber Board Chairman Cade Taylor said the Chamber Board  was very thorough in the hiring process and believes Patterson will be a great asset to the Chamber.

“The Board conducted a thorough interview process, interviewing eight candidates over two days,” Taylor said. “We brought in the two finalists for a second round of interviews. It was a three-day process of the Board. It was one of the hardest set of interviews I’ve ever set on. All eight candidates were an asset to the Chamber and the community. It was a very difficult decision.

“Cortnie’s understanding of the Chamber, understanding of Pampa and the Director’s role and her background in marketing [stood out]. She not only provided a lot of the same things the other candidates did to be able to do that job but she gave us a clear path for what she could do starting on her first day to get things where it needs to go. She understands where the Chamber has been, where it is today and where we go from here. Her attribute of putting service and the ability to serve was a huge deal and a notion lot of the Board Members took very well.”

There will be a welcoming for Patterson on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Pampa Chamber of Commerce, located at 200 N. Ballard in Pampa. Dinner will be catered by Dyers and those interested can RSVP on Facebook or at 806-669-3241 by Monday, Nov. 8.
