Dean Wyatt


Dean Wyatt, 83, of White Deer, passed away on November 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Celebration of Life memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Community Crossroads Church with Rev. Dr. Jerry Lane, pastor, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Father Hrudaya Raju Kondamudi, priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Dean was born July 2, 1938 in Pampa to Dallas and Jean Wyatt. He attended schools in White Deer. In October of 1957 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, he was honorably discharged at the rank of Sargent. After he was discharged, he returned to White Deer. On November 27, 1963, Dean married the love of his life, Jackie Barnard in White Deer. They had just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. Dean began his career with Cabot R & D in 1967 and worked for over 30 years, retiring as plant foreman. After retirement, he and Jackie enjoyed traveling and spending time in Colorado. Dean also enjoyed tinkering with projects, he could build just about anything out of metal. When his daughters were younger, he helped them with their sheep, even built them a treadmill that would walk 5 at a time. He always was an advocate for the youth and would help them in anyway. Dean had a giving heart and loved to give back. He was a 4H leader, retired from the White Deer Volunteer Fire Department, and he helped cook at the annual Polish sausage dinner. Dean also served on the White Deer city council for many years and served as President on the board of Spanish Peaks Landowner’s Association in Colorado. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served many years on the Sacred Heart Cemetery committee. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie of the home; 2 daughters, Karen Wyatt-Miller of Perryton and Cindy Kennon and husband Mike of Lubbock; 2 brothers, Dennis Wyatt and wife Candy of Pampa and Derryl Wyatt and wife Pat of White Deer; 5 grandchildren, Travis Miller and wife Kayla of Booker, Mordikye Miller and William Miller both of Perryton, Karlie Kennon and Macey Bonnette and husband Skyler all of Lubbock; and 6 great grandchildren.
