Desire wisdom

Posted

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

We are now moving forward into 2021 and it seems as if our world is turning more rapidly. It just seems that all over the world things are happening that bring new decisions with it. It is hard for me to keep up with all that is happening.

Here in America our political parties continue to play tug of war. I’m not strong on politics, but this is my thought concerning all that is going on. Regardless of what party people may align themselves, they need to first and foremost align themselves with God. After all, if they’re not with Him, they are against Him.

James 1:5-6 says – “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”

Much, if not most, of what is taking place in our world, our nation, our homes, and our lives is taking place apart from the wisdom of God. We either believe we know better than God or we are so rebellious that we don’t even seek wisdom to live our lives before Him. I believe that we would fare much better by hearing the admonition of James and seek the wisdom from God. Maybe it’s time we realize that we can’t do this on our own and ask God in.

Our world, our nation is in need of God’s wisdom. The truth is our families are in need of God’s wisdom. The choices many are making at this time are weakening the family structure to the point that families are falling apart. It might be possessions, money, jobs, or even other family members that have taken the place of prime importance. That is not wisdom but foolishness.

We are in a battle against satan and the forces of evil. It is time that we stand against him. Proverbs 24:5-6 says – “A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge increases power. For by wise guidance you will wage war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.” God promised victory in the OT and Jesus promised victory in John 16:33 when He said, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

I’m not a Professor of Theology, Missions, or Eschatology. I’m not as educated as others may be. I may never pastor a church that numbers in the thousands. But I believe that God has given me wisdom that will increase power to wage war against satan and bring the victory that is promised.

Things are not going to be easy. As long as satan is involved in this world and what is going on there are going to be battles that we will face. He wants this world turned upside down and for people to walk away from the peace that God desires. He wants people to be overcome by the things that are happening in their lives and turn them from God.

Now more than ever we need the wisdom of God to carry us through the struggles we face in this world. From the leaders in our nation to the one that is struggling to survive on the street, God’s wisdom is needed. It’s time that we make decisions in our lives based on the wisdom God offers.

Remember if you desire wisdom ask God in faith without doubting and follow Him.

JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, there IS something about that name!!

Christ only, always,

Bro. Paul
