The Pampa Education Foundation recently hosted Dr. Ben Carson in Pampa. Over 1,300 people attended the event at MK Brown to hear him speak. Most of the school children in Pampa and the surrounding area were able to hear his message. Because of the support and generosity of the people of Pampa, three other organizations benefitted from the very successful event. Those were Pampa Senior Citizens Center, Southside Senior Citizens Center, and The Well – STEM and Literacy Center. Another group that has benefitted from many donors is the children. Each PISD preschooler through third grade student was presented a copy of Dr. Carson’s book, Why America Matters. The Pampa Education Foundation will use the funds they gained by awarding PISD teachers grants for materials, supplies, and or experiences for their students in the classroom. How exciting that a one day visit has had such long lasting effects on the Pampa Community!
