Flogistix hands Glo-Valve their only loss of the season

Landry Crawford scattered five hits and the Flogistix Red Sox handed the Glo-Valve Service Dodgers their only loss of the season Monday in the final game of the Pampa

Optimist 11-12 Cal Ripken League season.

Glo-Valve clinched their 28th league title last week and ended with a record of 7-1-2. Flogistix won its last six games in a row to finish 7-4 for second place.

Crawford allowed one earned run on five hits. He struck out 13 and walked two to earn the win. McLaughlin suffered his first loss of the season against five wins He gave

up six hits, struck out 14, walked one and hit a batter. He surrendered two earned runs.

Flogistix used a lead-off double by Cruise Godino, singles by Crawford and Caison Brown and a pair of Glo-Valve throwing errors to take a 3-0 lead to begin the game. In

the bottom of the first Carter McLaughlin singled, stole second, took third on a throwing error and scored on a ground out by Hagen Hudson.

The winners added to their lead in the third inning on a pair of doubles by Godino and Crawford. Godino scored his third run of the game in the fifth on a single, two stolen

bases and an errant pickoff throw.

McLaughlin reached base on an error in Glo-Valve’s third inning, stole two bases and tallied on a throwing error. He scored again in the bottom of the sixth on a single, a

stolen base and a single by Easton Willis.

Godino, with a double, two singles and three runs scored was the leading hitter for Logistix. Crawford aided his own cause with a double, a single, a run and two RBIs.

McLaughlin scored all three Glo-Valve runs on two hits.

Crawford picked a runner off first and Godino caught a runner trying to come home on a short passed ball for the outstanding defensive plays for Flogistix. Willis threw to

Aiden Hammond at third base to record a caught stealing for Glo-Valve’s top defensive effort.

Optimist baseball will continue next Friday as all star teams from Pampa host a double-elimination Cal Ripken 9-10 district tournament and a double-elimination 11-12 Cal

Ripken district tournament.
