Molly Forman, a Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service family and community health agent for Briscoe and Hall counties for the past 10 years, was recognized with the agency’s Superior Service Award for a county agent at the annual Texas A&M AgriLife conference in College Station.
Forman runs a well-rounded educational program, effectively managing her time to maximize impacts for both youth and adults, her nomination stated. Serving two counties, she continues to be a critical resource to the citizens of both.
Some of her most significant programmatic efforts involve the health and wellness programs in which she involved her local Family and Community Health Program Area Committees in both counties to determine a plan of action, the nominated stated. These action plans address the needs of all citizens, from senior citizens to 4-H Clover Kids, and from affluent citizens to those struggling with poverty.
Her Health and Wellness Program has received recognition as an outstanding in-depth program at the district level. With an average of 22 senior citizens attending two to three days a week in either Briscoe or Hall counties, each increased muscle mass and physical stamina, the nomination stated.
Some other programs where Forman has been implementing health and wellness education are the Better Living for Texans educational series; Learn, Grow, Eat, Go!; Shattered Dreams; Ag Day and the 4-H Food and Nutrition Project.
One supporter wrote, “Molly Forman is totally devoted to God, family, country, community and Texas A&M AgriLife. She exemplifies the utmost qualities that any and all employers desire in an employee. Molly demonstrates through words and actions her love and interest in each participant in all the various programs from beginners in the 4-H programs to seniors. She handles each member of the group with patience, kindness and encouragement, while teaching them the targeted skills.”
