Gill takes the reins at PRMC

PAMPA — Jonathan ‘Jon’ Gill took over as chief executive officer for the Pampa Regional Medical Center April 25.

The married father of two said he looks forward to working with Pampa, increasing access to high quality healthcare and supporting the community.

“My goal is to make sure we do everything we can to ensure excellent healthcare is provided to Pampa residents not only now, but also for our next generation,” said Gill. “To accomplish this, we will continue to focus on delivering high quality care; we will act strategically to expand the services we offer that are needed by our community; and we will be good stewards of our resources so we can provide these services to the next generation.”

Gill, who has more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare, most recently served as chief operating officer at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma. Earlier in his career, Gill held numerous leadership roles with Doctors Hospital at Renaissance, a 551-bed hospital in Edinburg, Texas. While there, he served as vice president for four years and held other leadership responsibilities since 2005. In addition, Gill served in program director roles at Beaufort Memorial Hospital in South Carolina and Horizon Health in various locations in Texas, Arkansas, and Ohio.

Jon and his wife Kelly have been married for 39 years and have two adult sons. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Gill said Pampa feels very familiar.

“The people have been very friendly and welcoming, and the community feels comfortable like returning to your childhood home,” said Gill.

Gill, who holds masters degrees in business administration, counseling and theology, said his family and his Christian faith guide his life and his efforts.

Gill said he originally began work as a counselor, but realized his experience and training in interpersonal relationships enabled him to see opportunities to assist organizations build stronger and more effective teams and organizations. Gill wanted to improve those large systems and thereby improve care for individuals.

“It’s about developing systems where people can be successful, where organizations are accountable to the communities they serve, and where every patient is treated with dignity, respect and compassion.”
