Give Thanks to the Lord

Posted

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

I realize that Thanksgiving Day has passed. We have officially made the turn into the days leading up to Christmas. Yet if you will allow me, I want to spend this time focusing on giving thanks.

In the midst of these days there have been some tough times that seem to take our thoughts off of being thankful. I know for me recent days haven’t been easy. Having to be confined to home and unable to get out has been tough.

I’ve been trying to stay strong in the midst of these times but it has been tough. Oh, I am thankful for Vicki who has walked with me through these recent days. I’ve been so blessed by her love and care. She has been there each step of the way.

I’ve also thankful for my church family. They have been so supportive during this time. They have texted and called to find out how things are going and if I needed anything. I’m thankful for the love they have expressed during these days.

I’m also thankful for friends and neighbors that have checked on me. It has been such a blessing to know that they have been thinking about me and praying for me. In the midst of the struggles that I’ve faced, God sent encouraging words through those that have been there for me as well as Vicki.

I am thankful that in the midst of all that has been taking place, God has raised up those to do all that needed to be done. He has brought people to stand and do all that needs to be done so that the work continues on. I’m just thankful that in the midst of this time that people have joined together to fulfill the call God has given us.

I am thankful for those who have ministered to those who have been going through struggles. There are those who have been in the hospital undergoing surgery and others battling Covid. Yet they haven’t been alone. People have stood up in the midst of this time to help those who have had needs.

I am thankful for the doctors and nurses who have done what needed to be done so people are being taken care of. So often we just take them for granted, expecting them to be there when we need them. Yet in the midst of these times, I am thankful that they give of themselves to touch lives that are in the midst of a struggle.

I thankful for all our first responders who willingly give of themselves. They many times find themselves in positions where they minister to a person or family in a way that no other could. It is amazing how they have blessed so many with their willingness to serve, protect and provide care for those in need.

But most of all I am thankful for our good and gracious God. Through all that has taken place He has been with us each step of the way. Regardless of what we have faced, God has been there for us. He continues to watch over us in the midst of all that takes place.

Psalm 107:1 – “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.” As we go through each day facing the things that are in front of us, we know that His love is always there for us. He won’t leave us in the midst of our struggles and will love us forever.

God is always there for us and that is something to give thanks for each and every moment!

JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, there IS something about that name!!

Christ only, always,

Bro. Paul
