Glo-Valve beats FB&T 13-2

Carter McLaughlin pounded two doubles and a home run Monday to lead the Glo-Valve Service Dodgers over the First Bank & Trust Rockies 13-2 and into sole possession of first place in the Pampa Optimist 11-12 Cal Ripken League.

McLaughlin scored three times and knocked in five runs. He also combined with Easton Willis to hold the Rockies to one hit as he picked up his fourth win of the season.

He struck out eight and walked one in four innings of work. He allowed one run and one hit. Willis struck out two and walked three while allowing one unearned run and no hits.

Paxton Daniels and Austin Hunt pitched for First Bank & Trust.

Willis scored four times for Glo-Valve on a single and a double. Hagen Hudson added a two-run inside-the-park home run and a single. David Buendia chipped in two runs  with a single and one RBI. Aiden Hammond doubled and scored. Danny Moncado was on base every time up for Glo-Valve. He scored once and had one RBI. Weston Jones was one for three. Jace Ruiz was credited with one RBI. 

First Bank & Trusts’s Ethan Kirkham stroked a single to centerfield to score Hunt, who had been hit by a pitch and had hustled to third on a fielder’s choice hit by Maxx Organ. Gentry Stanhope scored the other run for First Bank & Trust after a walk, a stolen base, an error and a passed ball.

McLaughlin made the defensive plays of the game catching a runner try to steal in the inning he played catcher and picking a runner off second while pitching. Hammond made the tag each time.

With the win Glo-Valve improved to 5-0-1 and first place in league play. First Bank & Trust dropped to second with a season record of 4-1-1.
