Karen Goodman says that she is feeling grateful after the public confirmed her appointment to the Justice of the Peace’s office for Precincts 1 and 3 in the election Tuesday night.

“I’m very grateful that the voters got out and voted and showed support. I appreciate it very much and I intend to do my very best while I’m here. It’s nice to know that you have people supporting you,” Goodman said.

Goodman won her election in what could be considered a landslide victory by looking at the unofficial results for Gray County, where she banked 82 percent of the vote.

She spoke kindly of her predecessor and says that she plans to hold the same values as he did while she is in office.

“I think Judge Martinez did an excellent job of being here and being ready to help the citizens the best he could. That’s what I plan to do too, in both the civil and the criminal side of things,” she said.

Goodman has also relayed a message for her voters during her interview with The Pampa News.

“Thank you so much for your support, and I plan to do my best to do the job that you have elected me to do,” she said.
