Gray County Buyer’s Club Pig Out event set for Saturday

The Gray County Buyer’s Club Pig Out event will be held this Saturday at the Clyde Carruth Pavilion from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The sixth-annual event is a fundraiser for the Gray County 4-H and FFA livestock youth.

“It’s one of our main fundraisers,” GCBC member Ryan Davis said. “We support Gray County 4-H and any Gray County FFA member with their livestock projects.”

The GCBC is similar to a booster club in that they supplement the funding of the school districts.

“The schools may not be able to give them much funding for feed and supplies,” Davis said. “FFA does provide some transportation funding, but as far as every day supplies and feed, the kids are doing it out of their own pocket. That’s where we come in.”

Tickets to the event are $50 or $350 for a table of eight and features dinner (pork tenderloin), live and silent auctions and the Dixon Creek Band (sponsored by Tire Works Tire Pros of Pampa). It is a 21 and over only event. ($20 admission only after 9 p.m. for the dance)

Some of the big ticket items include a Henry Golden Boy .22 rifle, a rolling Craftsmen tool-chest, toys from Happy Toymaker and a gun-safe.

Raffle tickets will be available starting that night for the 2021 John Deere Gator RSX, a 14-foot Tandem Axle  Trailer, a Traeger Grill and more. The actual drawing of the raffle will be at the Gray County sale in January. Raffle tickets are $20 or six for $100.

“This is the kick off for the start of us to sell tickets,” Davis said.

Davis added he is thankful for all of the support from volunteers and businesses in putting together this event.

“I want to thank all of the volunteers who are helping to put this on,” Davis said. “I would also like to thank all of the businesses in Pampa. They have been very generous with donations.”
