Harvesting Success

PISD is one of the leaders in art education in the Texas Panhandle. Because our district has the dedication to this goal, our art students have the opportunity to be involved in analytical and innovative ways to participate in solutions around COVID-19 challenges in how to keep learning fine arts face to face and virtually. All of our incredibly artistic students are not a coincidence. There have been many hours poured into them from families, educators, administrators, and our community to get our harvesters where they are and will be in the future. Molding students with these characteristics takes time, resources, and love. Our district advocates for visual arts education as an integral part of a balanced curriculum, mentoring the next generation of leaders in our communities.

On March 06, 2021,  PHS students participated in the annual High School Visual Art Scholastic Event, also known as High School VASE. The State of Texas is divided into 20 Education Regional Service Centers (we are region 16). Students in the various districts inside Region 16 are invited to participate in their regional event; 600 entries were submitted for our region this year. Students are interviewed, and their artworks are juried by certified TAEA (Texas Art Education Association) jurors; this year, the process was all virtual. We are proud to announce our four outstanding students representing PISD and Pampa High School, winning the 2020-2021 Texas regional VASE. These students are: Trinity Land, Reagan Beckham, Emiley Porter, Hunter Dyer.
