The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will present the 2020 Central Texas Hay Production Workshop on Oct. 8 in Burnet. The event will run from 9 a.m.-noon at the AgriLife Extension office of Burnet County, 607 N. Vanderveer St.
Cost is $10, payable at the door, with registration starting at 8 a.m. An RSVP is requested by Oct. 5 to 512-756-5463 or 512-556-8271.
There will be three Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units offered, two general and one integrated pest management.
“This workshop is an excellent opportunity for area producers to get hay and hay-related questions and concerns answered by experts,” said Heath Lusty, AgriLife Extension agent for Lampasas County. “It is also a good opportunity to get CEUs producers may need while learning the latest industry information.”
Topics covered will include a Corteva product update, establishing warm-season perennial grasses, and identifying and managing insects in hay fields.
State of Texas social distancing recommendations will be observed, and face coverings are required. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
