Owners of Atomic Ice House, Britton White, and Blake Baldridge have officially opened their second location. Store Manager, Alex Rodriguez gave insight into the company’s growth.

“We’ve been opened in our Hobart location for nearly two years,” Rodriguez said. “We knew we wanted to expand into a second location but it needed time. After looking for locations for a while, this spot we’re in (El Ranchito) was the perfect space.”

The brothers spent the last six months searching for a space to put their next location in. The brothers had the idea to open a second location and began looking for a place, landing on the spot at 2421 Alcock, the staff began getting it ready to open.

“We spent the last two months cleaning and getting renovations done to be ready to open,” Rodriguez said. “It’s been a lot of cleaning and changing the layout but it’s all come together.”

What was once the previous restaurant’s bar area, is now a walk-in cooler for customers. The building is much bigger

than their Hobart store, which will allow them to carry more products.

“We want to carry the odd stuff that people aren’t always looking for,” Rodriguez said. “We have a lot more space here so we’re able to fill requests people have. If there isn’t room for it at store one, we’re gonna have it here. So if you can’t find what you’re looking for on Hobart, chances are we have it here.”

The store is right off the main highway for oil field workers so the benefits are going to be able to serve those who are coming into town. The Hobart store will continue to serve those inside of the town, and now the outskirts of town. The plans are to have more variety in their new location.

“We want to get things in that people are requesting, but some states are really hard to get things in from,” Rodriguez said. “We’ve had requests for things from Colorado but it’s not easy because there are difficulties that come up, but we try to get everything our customers have asked for.”

The official opening for the store was Monday, April 3rd, and the grand opening is scheduled for Friday and Saturday the 7th and 8th with some specials going on.

“We are going to have a specialized slushie those two days for people to come to try,” Rodriguez said. “On Saturday from 3 to 6 we’re going to have a tasting with our Budweiser rep going over our new Texas craft flavors we’ve had come in. Some other things are planned but we’ll see how it goes.”

With the new location, they will have a slushie machine going at all times.

“At the other store, we only did it on certain days, but we’re going to do it at all times,” Rodriguez said. “So that’s an exciting new feature to offer to people because our customers liked that at the Hobart store.”

The store is officially open and will be open from Monday through Saturday 10 to 9, the address is 2421 Alcock and is open now for customers to come in.

“We love our customers, we couldn’t do this without them,” Rodriguez said. “We hope they’ll come by and see us, and all people will come by and see the new store. We’re happy to have everyone in here.”
