James Richard “Dick” Kimbley, 81, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his home in Pampa.

He will be available for viewing beginning on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Dick was born February 11, 1940 in Pampa to Harold and Mary Kimbley. He attended schools in Lefors. Dick was an Army Veteran enlisting in 1957. He married Florence Velasquez on November 6, 1962 in Lefors, they have celebrated 59 years of marriage. Dick worked as a truck pusher and a consultant in the oil field most of his career. He worked for several different companies over the years, retiring from Triangle Well Service. In the mid 80’s he owned and operated Kimbley Cattle Company for a number of years. Dick was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed sitting back and watching tv.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Kimbley; 2 sisters, Genevieve Fletcher and Thelma Matthews; nephew, Richard Fletcher; and a niece, Loraine.

Survivors include his wife, Florence of the home; 4 sons, John P. Thraxton and wife Margaret of Houston, Robert L. Thraxton of Oregon, James R. Kimbley, Jr. and wife Alanna of Amarillo; and S. Mark Kimbley of Pampa; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
