Jeffery Don McClendon went home to be with his Savior on August 9, 2021. Jeff and Toni services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Briarwood Church with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor, officiating. Graveside will follow at 3:00 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website. The family ask that face coverings be worn to the service.
He was born on March 7, 1962 to Jerry and Carol McClendon of Paducah, Texas. He was an athletic child and young man, playing football, tennis, basketball, and others, a trait that he passed down to his three sons. He graduated from West Texas State and went on to work in the Texas legal system, first in probation and later in his career as the Chief of Adult Probation for five counties. He met his beloved wife of 33 years, Toni Mills, in Amarillo, TX.
Jeff’s passing was a devastating shock to those who loved and knew him. He was dependable, just, and fair in his interactions with others. To those left behind, his legacy is one of intensity of spirit; his passion for his faith, and his love and devotion to his wife, his children, and his family. That legacy will continue in the lives of his sons and their families.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Carol McClendon; his sister, Lezlea McClendon Wieland; and niece, Montana Beesley.
He is survived by his sons: Collin, and his wife Naomi; Brycen, and his wife Sydnie; and Alec; and brother Greg McClendon and his wife Susan.
