Joseph Anthony “Joe” Valdez, born on September 22, 1981, in Mobile, Alabama to Guadalupe and Sylvia Valdez, is at now at rest following his untimely death at the age of 41 years old, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at his home in Pampa.

Joe was a 1999 graduate of CIPLAC in Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela before beginning his workforce life as a manager of a restaurant in Ohio and the Sonic in Las Vegas. He transferred with Sonic to Pampa as manager then decided to make a career change by moving to Van Horn and pursuing his passion for golf by working at the golf club. He enjoyed the position so much; he opted to move back to Pampa and was the Assistant Superintendent of Hidden Hills Golf Course for several years.

In the midst of his transitions, he met and fell in love with Lindsey Saxour and on March 12, 2012, they exchanged vows and began a family that he dearly loved. One to always be full of energy, Joe had an amazing zest for life and maintained an upbeat, positive attitude all while wearing the biggest and brightest smile that was contagious to all who witnessed it.

When not on the golf course, he was often found playing the Xbox with his sons and cousins or possibly hunting with his brothers if given the opportunity. His laid back and easy-going disposition made him easy to love and his desire to make others happy – even at his expense sometimes, was just the icing on the cake! Nothing was more precious to him than his family and he cherished the time he spent singing with them, goofing off and just being an awesome daddy!

He was greeted into eternity with open arms by his grandparents, Heradio and Aurelia Luna and Jose and Teodora Valdez.

Those who remain to cherish his amazing smile and love of laughter are his wife, Lindsey Valdez of Pampa; his parents; Guadalupe and Sylvia Valdez of Van Horn; four children, Matthew Rodela, Isaiah Valdez, Christian Valdez and Talia Valdez all of Pampa; four siblings, Andrew Valdez and wife Paula of San Antonio, Gabriel Valdez and wife Isabel of Ingleside, Dominic Valdez and wife Lara of Houston, Victoria Vidana and husband Antonio of Van Horn; mother and father-in-law, Amy and Johnny Wildcat of Pampa; sister-in-law, Stephanie Saxour of Pampa; brother-in-law, Jonathen Wildcat of Pampa as well as many more in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members whom he loved dearly.
