Juana Montanez, 72, of Pampa, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022 in Amarillo.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Iglesia Apostolica Bajo la Gracia de Dios with Pastor Oscar Frayre officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Juana was born March 30, 1950 in Veracruz, Mexico to Luis and Ventura Alvarado. She moved to Tijuana, Mexico at an early age, where she met the love of her life in elementary school. They grew up together and married in 1970. He passed away on September 25, 2020 after 50 years of marriage. She was a homemaker who loved her husband and family. They moved to Pampa from California in 2013. Juana was a member of Iglesia Apostolica Bajo la Gracia de Dios and was faithful member. She loved gardening, her family, and her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Karla Montanez of Pampa; son, Larry Montanez and wife Daisy of Whittier, California; brother, Jose Luis Alvarado and wife Maria Elena of Whittier, California; 8 grandchildren, Francisco Casillas, Karla Casillas, Carlos Casillas, Karina Casillas, Larry Montanez, Jr., Yavery Montanez, Emma Montanez, and Leon Montanez; and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
