Lady Harvesters defeat West Plains 11-3

The Pampa Lady Harvesters upped their record to 15-3 overall and 7-1 in district 4-4A action in a decisive 11-3 victory over the West Plains Lady Wolves Friday at Lady Harvester Field.

In the bottom of the second and West Plains leading 1-0, Pampa would score four runs to take control of the ballgame. Cambree Dyer led off with a single and would eventually move to second base on a ground out. With two outs, Maecie Hawthorne would double, scoring Dyer. Briley Daniels then lined a single to center field, scoring Hawthorne. Briley Daniels would then steal second base, would take third on a throwing error by the catcher, then go all the home when the throw got away from the third baseman. Carsyn Hunt would then line a triple to center field and would score when the throw got away from the third baseman.

Pampa would add two more runs in the bottom of the third when Brianna Cloud led off with a double to left center. Cloud would then steal third base and score when the throw got away from the third baseman. Kynleigh Kirby would then hit a single. Karina Gonzalez came into courtesy run for Kirby. Gonzalez would advance to second base on a wild pitch, steal third base and would score when the throw got away from the third baseman.

West Plains would add two runs in the top of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 6-3. However, Pampa would score four runs in the bottom of the fifth to put the game away. Gonzalez was hit by a pitch, Cloud drew a walk, putting runners at first and second. Kirby then lined a triple down the right field line to score Gonzalez and Cloud. Kirby would score on a throwing error by the West Plains right-fielder. Cambree Dyer was hit by a pitch and would then steal second base. Hallie Hawthorne would draw a walk, Cassidy Stanhope bunted for single, loading the bases. Maecie Hawthorne then hit an infield fly that scored Dyer from third base.

For good measure, Pampa would add one more run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Cloud drew a one-out walk and would score on a double by Kirby.

Kynleigh Kirby again went the distance in the circle for Pampa for the win, pitching seven innings, giving up 3 unearned runs, striking out ten and walking six.

With the win, Pampa remains in first place with a record of 7-1. Randall and Canyon are tied for second place with records of 6-2. Dumas is in fourth place at 5-3. Borger is in fifth place at 4-4. Hereford and West Plains are tied for sixth place at 2-6 and Perryton is in last place at 0-8.

Pampa takes on Randall Monday in Amarillo at 4:30 and then will host Hereford on Thursday at Lady Harvester Field at 4:30
