Lady Harvesters Sweep Borger

Saturday was Future Lady Harvester Day at McNeely Fieldhouse for the District 4-4A showdown between Pampa and Borger, and the young players were treated to a great battle between two long-time rivals. Pampa would end up sweeping the match in three games.

In front of a raucous crowd, the first game was a typical Pampa-Borger matchup, with each team holding leads at various times throughout the set. Borger would start to pull away late and would eventually hold a 24-21 lead. However, Pampa would battle back with three straight points to tie the game at 24. Pampa would go on to win the first game by a score of 29-27.

The second game was all Pampa from the start, and they would take a 2-0 lead with a 25-18 win.

The third set was another back-and-forth game, and Pampa would end up winning the match by a score of 25-22.

Maecie Hawthorne ended the match with a rare triple double handing out eight assists and thirteen kills and eleven digs. Karina Gonzalez powered home fourteen kills and Carsyn Hunt added nine digs.

With the win, Pampa improved to 1-2 in district play and Borger dropped to 0-3.

In other 4-4A action, Randall swept Dumas, Canyon swept Perryton and West Plains beat Hereford in a 5-game marathon.

This week, the Lady Harvesters host Hereford on Tuesday at McNeely Fieldhouse at 7:00 and then travel to Perryton on Saturday at noon.
