Lee Jackson, 89, of Pampa passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Pampa.
Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Chaplain Larry Virnau, chaplain with Texas Home Health Hospice, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Lee was born November 25, 1931 in Springfield, Colorado to Charles Everett and Una Vida Jackson. He graduated from Kelton High School in 1949 and went on to junior college for a few years. On February 4, 1950 he married the love of his life, Sidney Whiteley in Wheeler, they just celebrated 71 years of marriage. Lee was an Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict from 1952 until 1954. Lee and Sidney have lived in Pampa since 1950. He retired from Cabot after 30 years and in 1978 they purchased Texas Pipe and Metal. Lee was involved in the company up until his health would not allow. He was a longtime member of First Christian Church, past member of the Jaycees, and Good Sams Club. Lee had a love for cattle, raising his first calf as a child and eventually a larger herd as he grew older. He enjoyed traveling with his RV, spending time at the lake, and most of all fishing. Lee enjoyed watching Harvester sports, especially when his grandchildren played, and he was an avid Texas Ranger Fan. He loved his family dearly and loved being a “Papa” and also known as “Fine Feller” to his grandchildren.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Jackson; 2 sisters, Pauline Shawl and Frances Smithson.
Survivors include his wife, Sidney Jackson of the home; 2 daughters, Carol Lee Snapp and husband Bill and Julie Morgan and husband Joel all of Pampa; 3 sisters, Myrtle “Mert” Reeves of Tennessee, Charlene Hartwick of Arkansas; and Maurine Courte of Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Shawna Snapp, Shellie Jewett and husband Chris, Cliff Spencer and wife Rainy, and Taylor Morgan; 2 great grandchildren, Raylee Jewett and Reagan Jewett.
