Advice that hopefully will help without any big surprises.

Life is about making choices. I made a not so good choice. I took my tax information to a place here in Pampa and told them I needed it prepared. My not so good choice was that I didn’t ask for a estimate of what it would cost?

2 days later, I found out! Without naming the business or saying how much I paid. I was shocked! As to how much it cost. I live conservative. I live on Social Security, only. I hardly ever go out to eat or go out of town to visit family. I compare the cost of having my taxes prepared to the cost of one of my heart medicines. I could have paid for 5 months of heart medicines and had enough money left over to have eaten at any one restaurant in Pampa.

So, my advice to you is, NOT make a not so good choice, as I did. But ASK and compare prices of several tax preparing businesses. It might SAVE you some money and frustration.

From  a retired person that needed to make a better choice. Hopefully this information will help someone.
