Dear Citizens of the Pampa Independent School District,

I am writing to encourage you to vote ‘Yes” to both Propositions A and B in the upcoming school bond election on May 6. The students of Pampa Independent School District should be able to have first class facilities in which to get their education. The teachers of PISD deserve to have the best available facilities which can support the curriculum and resources. Present day facilities do not have the capability needed for classes in computer technology, welding, food service preparation, as well as other needed supplies. Pampa is a very active community and it should be able to attract new businesses. With the passage of the bond election, the schools will be quite the drawing card.

If the bond does not pass, the facilities will continue to deteriorate and when it is decided something must be done, the cost will be even higher. Do we really want to wait until we are in a desperate situation? I don’t!

In Pampa, we want our athletic teams to win first place. We want our UIL teams to win first place. We are excited when the agricultural students’ animals place first in their competitions. We are thrilled when the choir and band students come home with high scores as individuals and as groups. It is exciting when the Theatre and Debate teams win at their competitions. We are thrilled that our eSports team will be representing PISD at the state contest. I think we should all be just as excited and thrilled that we will have new schools and state-of-the-art facilities for our students and teachers when the school Bond passes on May 6!

I am voting Yes and Yes on the School Bond Election because the students and teachers in Pampa deserve to have top notch facilities to enhance learning opportunities, and I hope and pray you will, too!
