Manuel Pineda, 87, of Pampa, passed away on October 7, 2022, at his home with his family by his side.

Services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Manuel was born on February 16, 1935, in Sweetwater to Jesus and Soledad Pineda. He grew up in the Sweetwater and Colorado City area. After school, Manuel entered the workforce. Manuel worked as a carpenter for several years, for the railroad, and then for the Cabot Corporation. While employed with Cabot, he was relocated to Pampa where he has resided ever since. After coming to Pampa, he met and married Marcelina, and she preceded him in death in 2011. Manuel would find love again when married Bertha Pacheco. The shared eleven good years together and blended two families.

Manuel was a hard worker in both his occupation and at his home. He kept an immaculate yard and took great pride in his yard and garden. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jose Manuel Pineda; and by two brothers, Luis Pineda and Jose Pineda; and a sister, Rita Guernsey.

He survived by his wife, Bertha Pineda of the home; two daughters, Debora Pineda and Diana Babcock, both of Big Spring; two sons, James Pineda of Lufkin, and Rogelio Pineda; five stepdaughters, Guadalupe Garcia of Pampa, Veronica Sanchez of Monte, CA, Rebecca Urrutia of Amarillo, Elva Urrutia of Borger, and Karla Urrutia of Fort Worth; two stepsons, Hector Medrano of Pampa, and Jose Urrutia of Garden City, KS; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Marcelino (Bobby) Pineda, Jesse Pineda, Jr., Cruz Pineda, and David Pineda; four sisters, Mary Alhgern, Rosa Meyers, Julia Townsend, and Sheila Isbell; and other extended family.

Cleta Fay Wells

Cleta Fay Wells, 80, of Skellytown, passed away on October 8, 2022, in Amarillo.

Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Monday, October 10, 2022 at the White Rose Cemetery in Reydon, Oklahoma with Phillip Edwards, her grandson, eulogizing her service. Arrangements and burial are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Cremator.

Cleta was born on November 23, 1941, to Elzie and Hazel McEntire in Reydon, OK. She grew up, attended, and graduated school in Reydon. She later married her high school sweetheart, Roy Lee Wells on December 22, 1966, in Wheeler. They later moved to Skellytown with Roy’s work in 1972 and have resided there ever since. They shared 35 years and raised three children before he preceded her in death in 2001.

Cleta was blessed when she found companionship again when she reconnected with Jack Dunn in 2007. Cleta was a fun-loving woman who was fond of Elvis Presley music, dancing with Roy Lee, and collecting antiques and ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Doran McEntire.

Her survivors include her loving companion, Jack Dunn of Skellytown; three children, Shelly Wells and husband Michael Scott of Oklahoma City, OK, Richard Wells and wife Amee of Amarillo, and Traysha Newsom and husband Gary, Jr. of Quanah; two granddaughters, Taylor Reed and husband Chase and Taryn Bivins and husband Dillon, all of Quanah; two grandsons, Phillip Edwards and wife Hailey and Connor Wells, all of Amarillo; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
