Marilyn Eileen Shepherd, 86, of Pampa passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in Pampa.

Services for Marilyn will be 2:00 PM, Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Rick Timmons of the Central Baptist Church of Canadian, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Marilyn was born on January 7, 1936, in Atchison, Kansas to Homer and Ethel Cox. She was raised in Phillips, Texas since 1939, moving to Pampa after she was married. Marilyn and her husband, Ira Linden “Butch” Shepherd met at Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. They moved to Pampa in 1957. They were active in their church, where he was a regular teacher of Everyman’s Bible Class, and she was the fifth-Sunday teacher of Everyman’s Class since 1974.

Marilyn worked for many years in financial institutions, doing annual auditing, and also internal auditing as well as commercial loans and managing a credit union. She loved painting portraits and commissions of loved ones that had died, praying the portrait would be a comfort to their loved ones. Her prayer is the lived she touch will be blessed for knowing her.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Rose Cox in 1958 and Homer Cox in 1980; her daughter, Kimberly Rose Shepherd on July 6, 1987; and her husband, Butch Shepherd on April 14, 2008.

Marilyn is survived by a son, Michael Lyndon Shepherd and wife Christine Marie Shepherd of Pampa; a sister, Maxine Baker of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
