Marliyn Jean “Nana” Kemp, 70, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Ed Sattesahn, pastor of The First Assembly of God, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Marliyn will be available for viewing from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Thursday.

Marliyn was born on August 6, 1951 in Higgins to Sonny and Tessa George. She attended schools in Higgins. On January 5, 1970, Marliyn married the love of her life, Donald Kemp, in Arnett, Oklahoma. The couple enjoyed 51 years of marriage together. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Liberal, Kansas and Woodward, Oklahoma for Donald’s job in the oilfield. In 2013, Marliyn and Donald moved to Pampa to be closer to family.

Marliyn was a housewife and had several hobbies she enjoyed at home. She was an amazing cook and loved taking care of her children. She enjoyed playing computer games and collecting butterflies. Marliyn was a very caring person, thinking of others before herself. She was a loving mother and “Nana” to her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Marla Genelle Kemp.

Marliyn is survived by her husband, Donald of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Cole of Pampa; two sons, Michael Landon Kemp and fiancée Jessica and Jesse Lee Kemp and wife Catie, all of Amarillo; and many grandchildren.
