Mary Ann Becker Tipton, 84, of Pampa, passed away March 2, 2023 at her home in Pampa with her family by her side.

A celebration of life memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. An inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Director and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:30 PM, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 1912 Lea St., Pampa, TX.

Mary Ann was born on May 22, 1938 in Pampa to Lucian and Janie Becker. She was attended Pampa school and graduated from Pampa High School in 1956. After graduating, she enrolled in college at West Texas State College majoring in Music, a study and art that took a preeminent part in her life.

Shortly after college, Mary Ann returned to Pampa where she would meet the love of her life, Jerry Tipton, and they later married on January 10, 1959.

After their marriage, Mary Ann and Jerry would live in Lubbock when Jerry was finishing school and later to Edmond, Oklahoma with a job transfer. After a few years in Oklahoma, Jerry and Mary Ann opened up their own business and Mary Ann would serve as the office manager and Jerry’s “right- hand woman.” Following the sale of their business, Mary Ann wanted to be closer to family. They settled in Colorado for twelve years to be closer to their daughter, Sherry. Eventually, Mary Ann wanted to return to Pampa to be closer to her sister, Virginia, and they moved to Pampa in 2018.

In her spare time, Mary Ann loved performing music, whether it was classical or gospel. She also loved gardening and her cats. Above all, Mary Ann loved all her family, and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, J.C. Becker, Bobby Becker, and Jackie Becker; a sister, Virginia Greer; three sisters-in-law, Betty Jean Waldrop, Judy Dunlap, and Beverly Becker; and brothers-in-law, Laven Greer and Whimpy Waldrop.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Tipton of the home; a daughter, Sherry Tipton and husband Edward Fleming of New Orleans, LA; two grandsons, Isaac Tipton Snyder of North Hollywood, CA, and Samuel Jackson Snyder of Ft. Collins, CO; two brothers-in-law, Jim Tipton and wife Linda, and John

Tipton and wife Kay, all of Davenport, OK; and sisters-in-law, Katherine Hampson, and Janice Jackson and husband Herb of Davenport, OK; and by many cousins and other extended family.
