Marylyn “Mimi” Kidwell, 77, of Pampa, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2022 in Pampa.

Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Marylyn was born January 22, 1945 in Pampa to Drewie and Evelyn Brown.  She graduated from Pampa High School in 1963. On June 8, 1963, she married Bill Kidwell in Pampa; they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.  Marylyn began her working career at Security Federal and later went to work for Cabot/NOV. She worked as a data entry clerk for 43 years before she retired.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she had been involved in handbells and the adult choir over the years. One of her favorite parts of the choir was being a part of the Living Christmas Tree. Marylyn was also a part of the CB Radio Club and a member of Opti-Mrs Club and was a longtime supporter of Pampa Optimist Youth Club. Through the years, Marylyn spent many hours following her children and grandchildren in all their activities such as dance recitals, gymnastics, sporting events, and stock shows.  Marylyn never met a stranger and would talk to everyone she encountered.  You could always find her with a Coke Zero and a contagious smile. She was notorious for being late for everything. During family gatherings, they knew her casserole would always be hot because it arrived last. Marylyn was known as “Mimi” to so many and will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin; her parents; and 2 brothers, Gene Brown and Wade Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Kidwell of Pampa; 2 daughters, Whitney Davis and husband Kevin and Dori Miller and husband Dustin all of Pampa; 5 grandsons, Keenan Davis and wife Ashlee, Tanner Davis and wife Bethany, Reid Miller, Trey Miller, and Drew Miller all of Pampa; and a great granddaughter, Bree Ryan Davis; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie Guthrie of Wellington, Carolyn Taylor and husband Jackie of Pampa, and Gloria Kidwell of Odessa; three brothers-in-law, Doug Kidwell and wife Judy and Larry Andrus all of Pampa, and Eugene Taylor of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
