Mellonee was born on April 2, 1933 in Wisner, LA. She graduated from Dumas High School and married the love of her life James “Jim” Jennings where they shared 56 years of marriage. Jim proceeded her death in 2006.

They later moved to Pampa where she was a homemaker caring for her three children, Terry, Jeannie and Jimmy Dale. Mellonee later would pursue a nursing degree and worked 38 years as a LVN. She met and cared for so many people in the community and loved her career.

In her and her husband’s younger years they spent a lot of time at Lake McClellan camping and skiing. In their later years they spent summers traveling to their lake house in Toledo Bend, Louisiana surrounded by her siblings. She also loved gardening, playing the piano and organ, and participating in church choir and Women’s Missionary Union (WMU).

Mellonee was a 70-year member of Calvary Baptist Church and volunteer of Meals on Wheels. Above all she was a dedicated mother, Meme (grandmother), great grandmother and was crowned a great great grandmother who took her role very serious. Most importantly she was a servant of the Lord and an inspiration to all those that knew her.

Mellonee is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clyde and Viola Williams; her brothers, James and Henry Williams; and sister Lorrraine Lackey. Her husband James Jennings, and two sons, Jimmy Dale Jennings and Terry Jennings. And her forever best friend, Doris Robbins.
