Mitzy Gayla Young, 65, of Pampa, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 in Pampa.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Kyle Ohsfeldt, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Mitzy was born on March 13, 1956 in Sherman to Harce and Ruth Bryant. She attended schools in Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High School. In February of 1974, she married the love of her life, Archie, along with his daughter Robyn. Soon after their wedding, the family moved to Pampa for work and to be closer to family. Mitzy stayed busy working many different jobs, but her favorite job was being a mom to her children. While working, she also attended Clarendon College from 1982 to 1984.

In her spare time, Mitzy had many hobbies. She loved to do arts and crafts, along with painting. At home, she loved to listen to music, sing, and dance. Mitzy loved her family and enjoyed being a mom and grandma. She spent the last several years of her life raising her grandsons, Ryden and Razden. Although she was only the mother of three, she was thought of as “Mom” by many others. The love she felt for the people around her was constantly expressed, and she will be greatly missed by so many.

Mitzy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie; a son, Randy Young; a brother, Max; and her stepmom, Marilyn.

She is survived by her daughter, Robyn Sanders and husband Mike of Pampa; a son, Chuck Young and wife Cindy of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Tim, Josh, Aaron, Taven, Ryden, Razden, Jeremy, and Rainlee; numerous great-grandchildren; four sisters, Misty, Mala, Monna, and June; and brother, Joe.
