Neva Kay Ashton, 77 years old, of Amarillo, Texas peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was born on August 23, 1946, in Artesia, New Mexico, to B.E. Ashton and Kittie Satterfield.
Neva attended the first graduating class of Caprock High School. It was in the 70’s that Neva came to know Christ and was not only saved, but also baptized and her relationship with the Lord never wavered throughout her life. She held several jobs during her lifetime that varied from one end of the spectrum to the other. She was a secretary at Boy’s Ranch, held different positions at Jack and Jill, Ideal, Safeway grocery stores and in fact owned her own mobile home dealership, was a licensed audiologist, and was presented numerous awards for being the top salesperson at Texas Dodge in Amarillo. It’s pretty safe to say she was an amazing salesperson.
She spent her final days with her son Chuck and his family where they enjoyed reminiscing on old times. One of Neva’s favorite topics was where and what they were going to eat! It was during this time of family togetherness and her vulnerability that she grew even closer to the Lord. She found peace and love while there.
Meeting her on the road to heaven were her parents, and brothers, Phillip and John Ashton.
Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Benjamin Womack of Henderson, TX, Chuck Ingram and wife Alicia of Amarillo, Tim Ingram and wife Jammie of Liberal, KS, Candace Koehn of Liberal; brother, David Ashton and wife Darla of Amarillo; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Interim Hospice of Amarillo for the kind and passionate care given to our loved one especially Kezea, Rebecca, Carrie, Janie, Dylan, and Pastor Danny Logan. You are all Heaven sent and we can’t thank you enough.
Celebration of Life Memorial services are pending at this time. Service details will be posted as details are available. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
